The main objective of the project is reforestation, environmental rehabilitation and restoration, and social improvement in the Ucayali region. This project is divided into two stages and we are currently in the first stage, whose overall objective is to restore 100 hectares of degraded forest ecosystems and protect an additional 100 hectares in the districts of Irazola and Neshuya, Padre Abad province. This will restore the fertility and productivity of the ecosystem in order to transform these degraded forest lands into productive, restorative and regenerative systems that will allow the recovery of biodiversity and the ecological functions of the forest.

In the Ucayali region, farmers face many challenges in maintaining their productive units. Most of them engage in small-scale agriculture, with limited access to technology and capital, and use much of their earnings to support their families. In addition, they are often forced to expand onto land that is not suitable for agriculture, which contributes to deforestation. This is why Viridis Terra's project has been designed to accompany these families in the implementation of farm plans, providing technical assistance in the management of agricultural and livestock products, as well as capacity building to increase productivity and profitability in a sustainable manner.

This project is supported by the Canadian NGO SOCODEVI - Peru, selected as the implementing entity, using the highest criteria of organizational quality and competencies.

SOCODEVI is an international NGO that supports and consolidates cooperatives as engines of sustainable and inclusive socioeconomic development with the objective of tangibly and sustainably improving the living conditions of the population.
