How to apply

The project seeks to strengthen and provide sustainability to the sacha inchik value chain by increasing the company’s plant capacity. New processing lines will be installed to create more exportable, value-added products from the Amazonian biodiversity of Shanantina’s member producers.

A laboratory will be set up for the propagation of entomopathogens and biofertilizers, and a biol and fertilizer plant with organic certification will be set up to ensure organic standards and increase crop yields, thus achieving better income for producers, ensuring water and soil conservation, and motivating producers not to migrate to forest areas to increase the agricultural frontier through the implementation of Conservation Agreements.

ASOCIATIONS MAPRIDEX Y APOLSACHA

The main objective of this project is to improve the quality of life and confidence of small producers from two associations: MAPRIDEX, located in the Leoncio Prado Village Center, and APOLSACHA, in the Kewchua del Wayku Native community in Lamas. These associations, composed of men and women, faced difficulties after the contraction of sacha inchi exports in 2018, which negatively affected the entire value chain.

To solve this problem, the project aims to improve the sacha inchi value chain through organic agriculture, while revaluing ancestral knowledge related to agriculture. This ancestral knowledge includes techniques such as the use of moon phases for field work, as well as specific methods for planting cassava, turmeric and chilli "charapita". In this way, the project promotes sustainable and ecological practices that will enable the small producers of these associations to improve their quality of life and strengthen their economic activities.
