How to apply

The objective of the project is to develop a sustainable business model around the aquaculture of Amazonian fish with regional and national demand, based on a productive reconversion, with a focus on circular economy and conservation.

The project also has an impact on the restoration of 200 hectares of land belonging to 100 neighboring cocoa- and coffee-producing families in the districts of Calzada, Habana, Soritor and Yantaló in the province of Moyobamba. This promotes soil recovery and conservation, the reforestation of degraded areas, the enrichment of agroforestry systems and, therefore, increases carbon capture and storage in soils and plantations, both on the farm and among neighboring families.

Pucayagro started aquaculture in 2016 and began its technification in 2018. It has the support and technical assistance of ITP/CITE Acuícola Pesquero Ahuashiyacu.
