WHO DO WE WORK WITH?

At the moment we are not able to attend to new proposals, as we have received a large number that are under review.

We are looking for business models with a positive economic, social and environmental impact that contribute to biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The main requirements to apply to the Amazon Business Alliance are:

  1. The beneficiary organization can be a company, association, cooperative, NGO, native communities, local communities, whose area of intervention is the Peruvian Amazon, mainly San Martin, Ucayali, Huanuco, Madre de Dios, Amazonas, Pasco or Loreto.
  2. The beneficiary organization must be legally registered in Peru.
  3. All projects must have, or arrange, co-financing in cash or in kind. On average, beneficiary organizations have co-financed 50% of the total project amount.

The Amazon Business Alliance supports sustainable business models through financial instruments, such as competitive loans and donations, and provides constant support with our strategic allies to accelerate sustainable businesses that contribute to the region’s economy with a focus on gender and interculturality.

In which regions does the Amazon Business Alliance work?

The Amazon Business Alliance works in the Peruvian Amazon, in the regions of San Martín, Madre de Dios, Ucayali, Huánuco, Loreto, Amazonas and Pasco.

We work in the following productive chains, however we are always looking for innovation. If your business does not fall within these chains, please contact us.
Agriculture, which encompasses the industrial activities involved in delivering agricultural goods to market: production, processing and distribution.
Agroforestry, which broadly encompasses land use systems and technologies that integrate trees into the same land management units as agricultural crops and/or animals, in some form of spatial arrangement or temporal sequence.
Livestock, which includes activities related to raising animals for milk, meat, pork, poultry, small ruminants.
Aquaculture, including industrial activities involved in animal breeding (crustaceans, fish, mollusks) and plant cultivation (algae, seaweed, macrophytes) in aquatic (freshwater) environments.
Ecotourism, encompassing environmentally responsible, nature-based recreational tourism and related activities.
Sustainable forest management, encompassing timber and non-timber forest products from native and secondary forest ecosystems.

Production or trade of any product or activity that is considered illegal under the laws or regulations of the host country or international conventions and agreements, or subject to international bans, such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides/herbicides, ozone depleting substances, PCBs, wildlife.
Production of or trade in arms and ammunition.
Production of or trade in alcoholic beverages (except beer and wine).
Tobacco production or trade.
Gambling, casinos and similar enterprises.
Production of or trade in radioactive materials.
Production of or trade in free asbestos fibers. This does not apply to the purchase and use of bound asbestos cement sheets with an asbestos content of less than 20%.
Production or other commercial activities involving harmful or exploitative forms of forced labor or harmful child labor.
Production, marketing, storage or transportation of significant volumes of hazardous chemicals, or use on a commercial scale of hazardous chemicals. Hazardous chemicals include gasoline, kerosene and other petroleum products.
Production or activities affecting the territories of indigenous peoples, or reclaimed by adjudication, without the full documented consent of such peoples.
Direct investment in SMEs, cooperatives, farmers or other producer groups using genetically modified organisms for agricultural production.
